Wainwright & District Family and Community Services offered:
Services for Seniors
Providing individualized information and assistance regarding provincial and federal financial assistance programs. At Christmas time, area Seniors receive a small gift bag in acknowledgment of the season and the contribution our senior citizens make to our community.
Living At Home
Living at Home Assistants provides in-home services including light housekeeping and meal preparation.
Emergency Alert
WDFCS is an agent for the Good Samaritan Society assisting in providing emergency alert units that are monitored 24/7/365, giving seniors and their family members peace of mind.
Counseling
Through WDFCS counseling program our psychologist provides short term, solution-focused counseling to individuals, couples, youth, and families. Available approximately 5 days per month, fees are subsidized by WDFCS.
TIPS
Promoting independence, parenting skills, and good nutrition for pregnant women and families with preschool children through home visitation and group activities. The community kitchen gives moms the opportunity to get together and cook healthy meals that they take home.
Parent Link
Provides information and support for parents raising children ages 0-7, through drop-in play, childhood activities, Triple P, and many various events throughout the year.
Special Projects
In order to be eligible for WDFCS special project funding, organizations must be requesting funding for programs/services/projects that serve residents of the Wainwright & District community. Any funding provided must be used for social programs of a preventative nature.
